It's About Grace

It's About Grace

As you enter Whipple Heights you are likely to notice a wall in our lobby that proclaims the mission of our church:

To help every man, woman, and child embrace the grace of God in Jesus & extend that grace to their world.

Followers of Jesus Christ value that last definition above the others. We believe that each of us has been rescued from the effect and penalty of sinful behavior by the intentional sacrifice of God's only and beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
We believe that God extends His grace to us despite the fact that we simply don't merit it in any way. There is nothing any of us have done or can do to earn Christ's loving favor. He extended his matchless love to us without reservation and God's word in the 5th chapter of Paul's letter to the Romans boldly proclaims: "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: 'While we were still sinners Christ died for us'." (Romans 5:8)

Christ died for us not because we were worthy, but in spite of our worthlessness. He loved us so much that His loving pardon, His clemency is extended to all who will believe in His ability to forgive lives spoiled by sin.

It is our hope that as you visit you witness God's grace in the lives of people you meet here, that you will feel God's love in the welcome and instruction you experience here.

Welcome to our church!
